ABOUT BUSINESS

RuffCue is a small Northern Ontario Dog Rescue specializing in owner surrendered animals, while also assisting our area reserves and authorities in the areas of canine care, management, and housing. At RuffCue we provide the community, and authorities option outside of culling or euthanizing, and specialize in the care and management of pups and mothers in high risk situations. Our small rescue takes great pride in having rescued, rehabbed and placed 85 dogs to date, with a return ratio of 0. We believe this is because RuffCue not only assists the dogs in rescue, but continues to provide support and assistance to the dogs, and their owners once they have found their homes.
We also work within the community providing access to kibble, and veterinarian services where the desire exists, but the funds do not, enabling owners to retain possession of their treasured pets and easing community strain. RuffCue works with not only the authorities, and community, but with owners, and potential owners to promote responsible ownership, and care without judgement while providing access to resource, as is provided by community support. RuffCue is a non-profit operating by the grace of donations, in the Rainy River District area, and we are pleased to be able to provide resource to: Municipal By-Law enforcement, OPP, and Ministry of Animal Welfare, as well as the area reserves, and public at large.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude and thanks the community for their ongoing support, and Canada Choice for providing this wonderful resource, and outreach opportunity to us. Thank you for making RuffCue an award winning resource, and helping us to help them, when they need it most.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What's your fee/process?

Adoption fees are posted at $600. You come to meet the dogs and we run what we call a "sniff test". If the dog shows indication they would like to follow you home we then provide you with an application. Once that is filled out and returned, we verify your information and check for any possible discounts you might be entitled to collect. Deposit, or full payment is made, arrangements for pick up and final paperwork signing are coordinated, and the dog is released to you once paperwork is finished, vetting is complete, and full payment is processed.
